I've had a keen interest in Photography ever since I got my first camera at the age of 10, but the real interest started to grow in the early 1970's when I discovered the delights of the darkroom.
About this time I began working professionally part time, doing children's portraits and a few weddings.
In 1985 I was a founder member of the Deepings Camera Club, and have maintained a strong link with the club ever since. I regularly lecture and judge at clubs all over the country.
In 1996 I was appointed as freelance Race Photographer for Jet Skier magazine, and have covered all the UK championships for the magazine since then. Several of the riders booked me for their wedding photography, and other sports began inviting me to cover their events.
By 2003 I had so much work that I decided to become a full time photographer and that is when Dave Stewart Photography was born.
I was an early convert to Digital Photography and have become very proficient in the use of Photoshop, writing many articles on it for internet based magazines and for nationally published photography magazines.
I offer personal and group tuition both on the use of Photoshop and on developing photographic skills.
I consider myself very lucky to have been able to turn my hobby into a profession. For me photography is not just a job, it is a passion.
Although I still cover many sports events, my love now is for creative wedding and portrait photography.
